Love Keeps Showing Up
We’re in a staff retreat today, dreaming and planning for 2026 and beyond. At the heart of the question, “Who do we want to be?” is this answer: we are called to boldly connect our faith with the work of justice—trusting in God’s abundance, peace, and reconciling love to carry us forward.
We can’t do this work alone. Here are a few ways you can get involved today!
Sunday, May 25 — Postcard Action: Fund Care, Not Cuts
Before and after worship at Middle Church
Help us flood City Hall with postcards urging our electeds to pass a FY26 People’s Budget—one that funds care, not cuts. We’re calling for investments in:
3K and CUNY
Immigration legal services
Safe Haven housing
Public libraries
Members of the Voter Reform Group and the Meeting the Moment Task Force will be on-site to hand out postcards and help you find your council member.
Sunday, May 25, 1:00–2:30 PM — Queer & Christian Book Launch with Rev. Brandan Robertson
Middle Church Sanctuary
Following worship, Rev. Brandan Robertson joins Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis and special guests for a conversation celebrating his new book, Queer & Christian. Stay after to meet the author and get your book signed. Books will be available for purchase on site.
Tuesday, May 28, 7:00–11:00 PM — The Ranked Choice Voting Ball
Presented by Qween Jean | Performance Space New York
This cultural-political event mixes the elegance of ballroom with the urgency of voting rights. Learn how Ranked Choice Voting works and why it matters—through fashion, art, and community power.
Doors open at 7:00 PM
Show begins at 8:00 PM and ends at 11:00 PM
Admission is free.
Coming Up: Friday, June 14 — No Kings / Kick Out the Clowns: National Day of Action
On June 14, Trump will throw himself a military parade in D.C. In response, Women’s March and national partners (including Middle!) are throwing grassroots street circuses across the country.
These bold, creative actions turn satire into resistance. Together we’ll reclaim the big tent for democracy, expose the absurdity of the MAGA regime, and end the greatest shitshow on earth.

We’re Rebuilding — and That Includes a Resource Table.
Now that we’re home in our building again, we’re building a new Resource Table — a place for community power and protection.
What should go on it? Know Your Rights cards? Abortion pills? Reparations materials? Let’s build it together — because that’s who we are.
