And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
“See, the home of God is among mortals.
God will dwell with them;
they will be Gods peoples,
and God will be with them and be their God;
God will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death will be no more;
mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
for the first things have passed away.”
Revelation 21: 3-4
Happy Sunday, Middle Family!
It was standing room only for a group gathered for a deportation defense training on Wednesday in the social hall. Yesterday, over 500 New Yorkers were trained by Hands Off NYC on how to take care of one another. There are countless things each of us does every day that bear witness to the fact that, yes, God surely dwells among us.
On the brink of the National Day of Mourning (commonly referred to in America as Thanksgiving), today we welcome award-winning author, poet, and storyteller Kaitlin Curtice, who will help us see all the places God dwells as she reminds us that the work of decolonization is deeply spiritual.
May you see God in all whom you encounter today, even within yourself,
Rev Amanda Hambrick Ashcraft
JUST LOVE FAMILIES PROGRAMMING
Every Sunday Before & During Worship
Just Love Littles | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM | 3rd Floor Children’s Room
For children ages 6 months through 2nd grade.
Join us for community, play, and thematic lessons on justice and spirituality. This is a drop-off opportunity for caregivers, but you are welcome to stay as your child adjusts. Worship is streamed in the room.
Every Sunday — Starting December 7
Just Love Kids | 3rd–8th Grade | 3rd Floor Studio
Children are invited to go upstairs after the Message for All Ages. They may walk with Lisette after the message or meet her directly in the studio.
If there is no Message for All Ages, children can join the studio at 12:00 PM. They will be brought back to the sanctuary during the closing hymn, communion, or whenever instructors feel it is a meaningful moment for them to rejoin worship.
